Terms and Conditions for Dog Walking and House Sitting Services

1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions (“Agreement”) govern the services provided by Best Dogs NL, B.V. , hereafter referred to as "The Provider", to clients (“The Client”). By booking or utilizing any services offered by The Provider, The Client agrees to these Terms and Conditions.

2. Services Provided

The Provider offers dog walking and house sitting services, including but not limited to:

  • Dog walking (daily, scheduled, or one-off)

  • House sitting (overnight stays, care, and feeding)

  • Additional services (pet feeding, plant care, mail collection, etc.)

Specific services will be outlined in the service agreement upon booking. Services are tailored to the dog’s needs, physical ability, and temperament.

3. Booking and Payment

  • Booking: All services must be booked in advance, either via the Provider’s website, phone, or email. For house sitting services, a minimum notice period of 48 hours is required.

  • Payment: The Client agrees to pay the full fee for the services prior to the scheduled appointment unless otherwise agreed upon. Payment must be made via [bank transfer, PayPal, or other payment methods].

  • Rates: Service rates are listed on the Provider’s website or provided upon request. Rates may vary based on location, time, and specific requirements.

4. Cancellation and Rescheduling

  • Client Cancellation: Cancellations made by the Client must be communicated at least 12 hours in advance for dog walking services and 72 hours in advance for house sitting services. If cancellation occurs less than the required notice period, a cancellation fee of 10 Euro will apply.

  • Provider Cancellation: The Provider reserves the right to cancel or reschedule services due to illness, emergency, or force majeure. In the event of a cancellation, the Client will be refunded or offered a rescheduled appointment.

5. Client Responsibilities

  • The client is responsible for informing the Provider of any medical conditions, special needs, or behavioral concerns, including fear, aggression or reactivity prior to the start of services.

  • The client confirms all dogs are up-to-date on vaccinations, licensed as required by local law, and free from contagious illness.

  • The Client must provide accurate contact details for emergencies.

6. Vaccination Policy

To ensure the health and safety of all animals in our care, as well as other pets we may come into contact with, The Client must ensure that their dog(s) are up to date on all core vaccinations as specified below. Proof of vaccination must be provided upon request and before any boarding or group dog walking services are performed.

Required Vaccinations for Boarding and Group Dog Walking:

  • DHP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvovirus): Valid within the last 3 years.

  • Leptospirosis: Must be administered or boosted within the last 12 months.

  • Kennelhoest (Kennel Cough – Bordetella bronchiseptica and Parainfluenza): Must be administered or boosted within the last 12 months.

Optional (but recommended in some cases):

  • Rabies: Required only if traveling outside the Netherlands.

Vaccination Records:

The Client must provide valid documentation (vaccination booklet or veterinary certificate) as proof of compliance prior to the start of any boarding stay or regular group walking arrangement. The Provider reserves the right to refuse service if up-to-date records are not supplied.

Exemptions:

Dogs with medical exemptions must be accompanied by a veterinarian's letter explaining the reason for exemption. Acceptance is at the discretion of The Provider and may not be granted for boarding services due to public health concerns.

Health and Safety Clause:

The Client acknowledges that failure to provide accurate and up-to-date vaccination records may result in cancellation of service without refund, and the Provider shall not be held liable for illness or disease transmission resulting from non-compliance.

  • Pet Equipment: The Client must ensure that pets have all necessary equipment (leash, harness, medications, etc.) for dog walking or other services.

  • House Access: The Client must provide clear instructions on how to access their property, including keys or security codes. The Client is responsible for ensuring their home is safe and secure during house sitting.

7. Emergency and Veterinary Care

  • In case of emergency, the Provider will contact the Client immediately. If the Client cannot be reached, the Provider is authorized to take necessary action, including seeking veterinary care. The Client agrees to cover any emergency veterinary expenses incurred during the course of the service.

8. Liability and Insurance

  • The Provider is insured for public liability in case of accidents or injuries that occur during the course of service provision.

  • The Provider will not be held liable for any injuries, damages, or losses that occur to pets, the Client’s property, or any third parties unless caused by the Provider's negligence or intentional misconduct.

9. Pet Behavior

  • The Provider reserves the right to refuse service if the pet is deemed dangerous or aggressive. If a pet exhibits behavior that threatens the safety of others, the Provider may stop the service and a cancellation fee will apply.

10. Privacy and Confidentiality

  • The Provider agrees to keep all Client information confidential and will not share any personal details with third parties without prior consent, except when required by law.

  • Any photographs or videos taken during services will only be shared with the Client or used for marketing purposes with explicit consent.

11. Force Majeure

The Provider will not be held liable for any failure or delay in services due to unforeseen circumstances such as natural disasters, pandemics, strikes, or other events beyond their control.

12. Governing Law

This Agreement is governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Any disputes will be resolved in the competent courts of Amsterdam.

13. Amendments

The Provider reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Clients will be notified of any changes, and continued use of services after changes implies acceptance of the revised terms.
